Egyptian and Arabic food are amazing. Hummus particularly is Levantine (Palestinian, Syrian, lebanese). Koshari famous Egyptian dish!!!

A wonderful family run restaurant with exceptional food! The salad was fresh and delicious and the entrees were hearty and deliciously spiced.

Everything I've had here is fresh and tasty! I love the lamb shawarma entree w/salad and hummus, and the mint limeade is delicious. The renovations look great and it's always super clean!

The food here is super tasty. Full of flavor, hummus was so so smooth. I have been here twice and would keep coming back. The owners were super nice, very attentive. The space is open and welcoming.

The sandwiches were great! You honestly can't go wrong with anything you order. The people were friendly. And the food was delivered quickly! We will be back

I've been very slowly and unintentionally chewing my way through The Stranger's 15 Best Restaurants in Seattle (https://www.thestranger.com/food-and-drink/2023/07/19/79083469/the-15-best-restaurants-in-the-seattle-area-2023). Slowly: it's August and I've been to 5 of the 15 (2 of which I'd been to prior to seeing this list); unintentionally: mostly I go to one of these places when I'm already planning to be in the neighborhood (meaning I probably won't ever make it to a few). Now, I love the irreverent writing style on display at The Stranger, and really enjoyed the author's turn of phrase. Her Top 15, though, I've found wanting - until I came to Hummus Cafe. Wife and I went to the salmon run at the Ballard Locks. As we were getting ready to go, she said she was hungry. I've wanted to try the Hummus Cafe since seeing it on this list, and Greenwood was on our way. She ordered a falafel & eggplant sandwich; I ordered lamb shawerma plate. My wife summed it up, "I'd come back here again." I was pleasantly surprised that they served actual lamb rather than the highly-processed solidified meat-like slurry found at so many Mediterranean places (they offer that here, too, but it wasn't on my plate). We shared a baklava at the end. It was drier than I'm used to which is normally a death sentence for me. It wasn't slathered with syrup the way I like it (I have a terrible sweet tooth); it was very buttery and flavorful - I'm also a major fan of "buttery". Different, tasty. The author of the Top 15 list seeks to balance delicious food at reasonable prices. This food is good; "reasonable" is up to the diner. 1 item and a drink each (plus 1 baklava), our bill was $50. Hummus Cafe is a gem hidden in plain sight - smack on the corner of 85th and Greenwood. We'll be back.

Their shawarma sandwiches are easily the best I've ever had. I could literally eat it every day for the rest of my life. I love the lamb schwarma and my wife loves the chicken schwarma. We've also had the schwarma salads which are delicious.
